March is such a great baby month.  This little lady made her debut on the 8th, her exact due date {and only a few days after her daddy’s birthday and a few before her mommy’s}.

It is always such an honor to capture the amazing journey couples go through to become a family.

Kayla decided to go natural, no drugs, no epidural {my hat is off to her}.  So once there were signs that baby girl was on her way and she was well into labor she passed her phone over to Andrew and let him do all the texting to keep me updated.  I was so impressed with him, giving the details I needed, when I needed them but still doing everything he could to protect and comfort his sweet wife.

I made it to the delivery room not too long before she started to push.  The lights were nice and low, she was completely focused and sweet Andrew was visibly concerned and overwhelmed with all that Kayla had to go through, but still so strong for her.  I was so so so proud of both of them.  They needed each other.  They had each other.  They were focused on their family.  It was such a beautiful journey.

Kayla was a champ.  She did everything the doctors and nurses told her to do, only better than they expected, and little Kinsley made it here with only a few pushes.  Andrew was so proud.  The doctor was so proud.  I was so proud.  She was so excited.

Daddy stood close by as baby was cleaned, measured and weighed and then at mom’s request was the first to hold her.

He was completely and utterly smitten with this little lady.  And she soaked in her daddy.  It was beautiful.

She also snuggled right in with her mommy and was completely content.  And side note, is Kayla not absolutely beautiful!?  After several hours of natural labor and child birth I do not know many people that would look so beautiful.

It was a joy to witness the beginning of this sweet little family.  Both mom and dad could not get enough of little Kinsley and baby girl soaked in every second of her mom and dad.

And this is where your story begins, baby girl.
Welcome.
You sure are loved.

We ate a lot of candy yesterday.

Like a lot.

But that is totally legal one day a year… right?

Now we are on sugar detox around here….

not helpful that we still have doughnuts, cupcakes, sees chocolates, and cookies still hanging around.

Maybe we will start tomorrow.

Happy late Valentines day to you all.

Hope your holiday was as fantastic as ours was.

There are so many tiny things to remember about a newborn that you think you will never forget… but then you come to find that time has faded those memories more than you ever wanted.

Her smell.

Her sounds.

The little PKU prick on the bottom of her foot.

The “milk bump” on her top lip.

How her mouth would naturally fall open when she was sleeping.

All the things that make you smile and snuggle her a little bit closer.

This little lady was such a joy to spend time with.  She is the first girl after 3 boys… needless to say the whole family was very excited for her arrival.

She is now 3 months old… an alert, smiley, sweet, little person.

I will always remember her like this.

Welcome to the world Miss Tessa.

You sure are loved!
