L+R {a love story}

Rachel and Lucas were one of the sweetest couples ever!  Their personalities rocked, their love glowed, and their humor was fantastic.  It is just not fair that one couple can have all of the most amazing qualities as well as being absolutely beautiful.

I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

Don’t you wish that you could always be this in love…

… and this beautiful.  {see told ya, not fair, right}

Love them.

Their reception was super fun and he even was nice to her cute face and did not cover it in frosting.  Such a sweet guy.

And yes, her dad learned how to duggie.  Love it.  Love him.  Loved this night.

Such a wonderful event.  So happy for the two of you.  Cannot wait to see what your future holds!!

It is always such a joy to be in the delivery room.  I so look forward to these amazing sessions and love the opportunity of documenting such an incredible journey.

And this one was no different, such a joy.  This little lady had us all on pins and needles for weeks.  We were expecting her to make her grand entrance a few weeks before her due date but she was too cozy and waited to be induced.

I got the call early in the morning that the induction had started.  The nurses estimated that baby would not be here until at least dinner time, if not midnight.  Labor progressed nice and slow and mom got some rest…. until baby Lily decided she had waited long enough and it was time.

Sara dilated from a 4 to a 10 in about an hour and had to wait for the anesthesiologist to get out of surgery and give her the epidural… twice.

The contractions came fast and hard but she was still in control but ready for some relief.

She had a wonderful support system around her, cheering her on, comforting her, supporting her but we were all so happy for her once the epidural finally kicked in.

Baby Lily had an older brother waiting anxiously in the waiting room.  Lots of texting, many updates, and tons of support came from him as we all waited for the little lady to make her arrival.

And finally the time came and the pushing began.  Sara was a champ and did exactly as she was told.  Dad counted every push and I am pretty sure tried to push for her a few times.

And then she made it.

Sweet little Lilianna had finally joined the party and she was as perfect as ever.

Dad loved and adored both of his girls.  Lots of love and adoration for mom and absolute awe over his little baby girl.

And Sara couldn’t be a better mommy.  She was so excited to snuggle her little lady, it was a joy to witness.

There is nothing like watching a family grow.  So much love and joy, it doesn’t get much better than that.

Welcome to the world little Lilianna.

You sure are loved.

I am interested in maternity photographs as well as birth photographs. I am not due until March but I would like to get a good idea of what is available and pricing. Thank you.

glimpses | confessions

A few confessions:
1. I do not like school breaks.  I dread them.  I find myself counting down the days until they are over before they even start.  Call me a bad mom but it gets a little overwhelming trying to entertain 2 very energetic boys with no school distractions.
2. I love, love, love waking up in Las Vegas in the spring.  Windows open, breeze blowing, birds chirping.  It is the perfect way to start the day.
3.  If I could wake up and snuggle with my husband and babies in the morning, every morning, I would be one very happy mom.  It just brings joy to my heart.
So this morning I wake up to a little person saying “mom…. mom…. moooooom.”  I groggily come out from under my blankets expecting to settle yet another spring break disagreement.  But to my surprise I see a beaming Beckam holding a plate overflowing with eggs and toast and hear an excited Cade on the other side of the bed doing the same for Jared.

Those little men woke up, cracked, scrambled and plated 18 {yes 18} eggs for us and made multiple pieces of toast.  Cade was proud that he had made all the eggs and Beckam was proud that he had handed Cade all of the eggs.  Love it.
When I asked them why they decided to make us breakfast Cade replied, “just because of all the nice things you do for us.”  ::sigh:: melt my heart.

After we had choked down eaten all of our eggs {while the boys jumped back and forth over the bed and Capri squawked until she had just as many bites as I did.}  I headed down to view the damage.  Not bad considering a 6-year-old and a 3-year-old had made breakfast but it did take a good amount of time to scrub yolk off of… everything.

So some new confessions.
1. Those little turkeys proved me wrong.  School breaks are not half bad… except for the cleaning up part.
2.  Windows open, breeze blowing and birds chirping is even better when accompanied by kids.
3.  Snuggling with the family is even better when accompanied with eggs.
Still smiling.

kinsley | las vegas birth photographer

March is such a great baby month.  This little lady made her debut on the 8th, her exact due date {and only a few days after her daddy’s birthday and a few before her mommy’s}.

It is always such an honor to capture the amazing journey couples go through to become a family.

Kayla decided to go natural, no drugs, no epidural {my hat is off to her}.  So once there were signs that baby girl was on her way and she was well into labor she passed her phone over to Andrew and let him do all the texting to keep me updated.  I was so impressed with him, giving the details I needed, when I needed them but still doing everything he could to protect and comfort his sweet wife.

I made it to the delivery room not too long before she started to push.  The lights were nice and low, she was completely focused and sweet Andrew was visibly concerned and overwhelmed with all that Kayla had to go through, but still so strong for her.  I was so so so proud of both of them.  They needed each other.  They had each other.  They were focused on their family.  It was such a beautiful journey.

Kayla was a champ.  She did everything the doctors and nurses told her to do, only better than they expected, and little Kinsley made it here with only a few pushes.  Andrew was so proud.  The doctor was so proud.  I was so proud.  She was so excited.

Daddy stood close by as baby was cleaned, measured and weighed and then at mom’s request was the first to hold her.

He was completely and utterly smitten with this little lady.  And she soaked in her daddy.  It was beautiful.

She also snuggled right in with her mommy and was completely content.  And side note, is Kayla not absolutely beautiful!?  After several hours of natural labor and child birth I do not know many people that would look so beautiful.

It was a joy to witness the beginning of this sweet little family.  Both mom and dad could not get enough of little Kinsley and baby girl soaked in every second of her mom and dad.

And this is where your story begins, baby girl.
Welcome.
You sure are loved.
